The Conversation You Didn’t Know You Needed: Tabarma’s Maiden Edition and what's next
At the maiden edition of Tabarma Roundtable, we explored Romance under the Lens of Tradition and Modernity, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative.
We handed out Red and Blue cards , a simple tool that allowed participants to visibly agree or disagree with what the discussants were saying. What followed was an organic, engaging, and thought-provoking exchange that went beyond the table, with the red and blue cards spilling over into the vibrant comment sections and an overflow of likes across our social platforms.
We are going viral
The conversation didn’t stop there; it’s still going and it has gone wild. But the excitement isn’t just about numbers; it’s about something much deeper. What it revalidates for us is the undeniable need for a platform like Tabarma , one where real, unfiltered perspectives are heard. A place where we can understand the factors that shape and influence us —individually, culturally, and collectively.
Why does this matter?
We designed Tabarma to be more than just a space for conversation; it’s a learning ground. A platform where we actively collect insights on culture and identity. Insights that directly inform and influence our creative outputs at Cavemen Africa. We’re not just talking to hear ourselves speak; we’re listening to truly understand what people are thinking.
It’s about going beyond surface-level conversations to explore the ideologies that are shaping our world, and leveraging those insights to create impactful storytelling. This isn’t just about making content; it’s about creating opportunities for growth, empowering the community, and ensuring that the narratives we tell are truly reflective of the people we serve.
Tabarma is about actionable insight , how we can use what we learn to inform everything from our creative work to the projects that empower communities.
We are just beginning, but we’re confident that this platform will continue to spark more of the conversations that matter, while directly contributing to the growth and development of African creative culture.
Stay tuned for what’s next.
